Weight I have lost

Half-Marathon Shoe Question (actually 12 miler question)

OK, so I woke up this morning, and lost 1.7 pounds. Woohoo! 13+ pounds lost. D has lost 40 pounds. Woohoo for him too. To be honest, I can tell he lost weight, but I never noticed he had gained it. Does that make sense? I can't really tell I lost weight. But it probably has something to do with the fact I wear a t-shirt and sweat pants every day. I don't really have any reason to wear form fitting clothes at the moment. D says my legs are thinner.

Anyway, I went and ran my 5 miles. Not very exciting. It rained and washed away the pollen so of course today the pollen is bothering me.

So I have a question. I have now worn my shoes for 10 miles...8 running, 2 walking.
I have a 12 mile run on Saturday. Should I wear my new shoes or my old shoes? I can't decide.

so I'd say yes. Wear them around the house. It usually takes 2 runs for me to break in my shoes. But I wear the same brand, same shoe bases etc. So there is very little variance other than breaking in the toe box for me.

I'd wear your old shoes for the run.

I would do a few more short runs in the new ones.

Congrats to the both of you for the weight lose...and you do have reason to wear form fitting clothes, you are losing weight!!!

About the shoes, I say wear the new shoes. I took my new Brooks Ravena's out for a ten miler right out of the box, no problem. Also I took my new trail shoes out for Sweetwater with only putting about 10 miles in them and didn't have a problem.

Great news on the weight loss. WRT shoes: I'd wear the new.

you're getting all kinds of mixed messages on the shoes.

I'd wear the NEW ones.

Wear the new ones, since you've already done 10 miles in them. New shoes = better support. Happy running!

You like your statement, "so I woke up this morning, and lost 1.7 pounds." Sounds so effortless.

Good luck on the 12-miles this weekend. :)

As for the shoes, if the new ones didn't bother you much, I say the new. But if you have even the slightest doubt about those new ones, then, stick with the old.

I personally have never had a problem wearing my new shoes on long runs...but I am not blister prone...(although I do get them), I would say wear the new ones and enjoy!!!
